About Powher

POWHER is a non-profit organization founded by a dedicated team of social workers united by a shared vision: to uplift and empower women and specially-abled individuals living in the underserved slum areas of North Delhi.

Our journey began in July 2010, with a simple yet powerful initiative—organizing free educational programs and life-skills sessions for young boys and girls in the community. These early sessions, focused on education, basic manners, and personal development, were conducted by passionate, unpaid volunteers in open spaces like local parks, where the only classroom was the will to learn and grow.

Since then, POWHER has evolved into a grassroots movement of change—committed to building confidence, self-reliance, and opportunities for those who are often overlooked by society. At our core, we believe in the potential of every individual, and we work tirelessly to create a more inclusive and empowered future for all.
